Coleman Sleeping Bags: So Many Options
Coleman sleeping bags offers a wide variety of bag styles and colors
Coleman camping stores offer many, many choices when it comes to solving all your outdoor camping equipment needs. Coleman sleeping bags come in five main categories. Here we will try to define each of the five main categories of Coleman sleeping bags.
Coleman sleeping bags for mild weather:
These bags are rated 30degree plus bags, each individual style and make will have a different temperature rating, from +30-+50. When a Coleman sleeping bag is rated +40 it means that the bag should keep you warm down to as cold as 40degrees outside the bag. Some of these models will be very heavy, while some may be very light, so make sure you study the specifications of the sleeping bag you are considering. These bags will be just fine for summer use, but may not be appropriate for spring or fall camping expeditions.
Coleman sleeping bags for moderate weather:
This category of sleeping bags will cover the +20-+30 degree range and come in a variety of styles and colors. The sleeping bag in the photo is the same as my personal Coleman sleeping bag, the Bluespring sleeping bag. It is so comfortable with the flannel lining, I adore crawling into my sleeping bag at the end of a hard day camping or fishing.
I actually used this exact same bag for five years of commercial fishing and never once was I cold, even with the cold steel from the boat against my back. The nice thing about this style of bag is that you can zip two of them together for a bag fit for a couple.
This category of sleeping bags is ideal for the minimalist who is searching for lightweight yet durable, but also with the ability to keep you warm at night. The backpacking camper is usually more worried about weight than any other features, who wants to carry a heavy pack? The majority of these bags weighs in around 2 pounds and is rated for weather down to +40. Most of these bags are mummy bags rather than rectangular for easier packing and greater warmth.
Coleman sleeping bags for marine use:
These sleeping bags are designed to stop odor causing bacteria while keeping you dry and comfortable. They come in +40 and +30, so unless you are in the northern reaches these bags should be quite adequate for your maritime use.
Coleman sleeping bags also come in childrens sizes, making Coleman your one stop shop for all your sleeping bag needs.
